ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

High School 9th - 12th

High School students are required to meet all State and Federal educational requirements. High school students will experience a blended learning approach that makes use of both traditional classroom learning and online learning. A blended classroom allows learners to study at their own pace. By combining online and in-person components, learners will have more flexibility in how they approach their learning materials. Additionally, campus based students will benefit from our progressive learning experiences which may include:

· Education for social responsibility and democracy

· Integration of community service and service learning projects into the curriculum

· Integration of entrepreneurship in to education

· Emphasis on lifelong learning and social skills

Middle School 6th - 8th

Middle School students are required to meet all State and Federal educational requirements. Middle school students will experience a blended learning approach that makes use of both traditional classroom learning and online learning. The blended classroom will use the flip instructional approach. In a flipped classroom the teacher flips the normal educational structure, and the homework will be done in class and the lesson will be followed at home. This way the teacher will be able to focus more on helping the students apply the content and focus more on the higher-level learning skills. At home, via an e-learning course, the students learn at their own pace, repeating or fast-forwarding through the lesson as needed. Additionally, campus based students will benefit from our progressive learning experiences which may include:

Strong emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking

· Group work and development of social skills

· Understanding and action as the goals of learning as opposed to rote knowledge

· Collaborative and cooperative learning projects

· Emphasis on lifelong learning and social skills

Elementary Pre K-5th

Pre K- 5th grade student learning relies on the spiral teaching method because it's a proven, time-tested approach. Spiral review focuses on mastery, not memorization. It forms a bridge to new topics, promoting flexible and critical thinking skills. Additionally, campus-based students will benefit from our progressive learning experiences which may include:

· Emphasis on learning by doing – hands-on projects and experiential learning

· Integrated curriculum focused on thematic units

· Selection of subject content by asking what skills will be needed in future society

· Assessment by evaluation of child’s projects and productions

· Emphasis on lifelong learning and social skills
